Russia and Belarus want the Men’s EHF EURO 2022! Russian Handball Federation president Sergey Shisharev announced that he had meeting with EHF Secretary General Michael Wiederer in Vienna, where that was a main topic.
– During the meeting we shared our idea of a Men’s European Championship in 2022 in Russia and Belarus. Our countries are natural alliance in terms of infrastracture, geography, spectators. We can and we should qualified for that.
Whole project will me discussed with the Ministry of Sports of Russia.
According Shishkarev, the venue of of the even will be decided during 2017.
-The procedure will start in the spring of 2017. During 2017, within a reasonable period of time sufficient for the submission of applications will be determined the winner. Of course, we will hold talks with the leadership of the Belarusian Handball Federation, perhaps the head of the Olympic Committee of Belarus.
