Each French athlete who won a gold medal in Rio will receive a bonus of € 50,000 at the end of the competition. The French handball team could get even doubled prize, higher for the part which will give French Handball Federation.
The Secretary of State for Sports, Thierry Braillard, also announced that the premium in case of gold would be € 50,000 per athlete. This is the same scale as it was for the Olympic Games in London four years ago. As is often the case in such a competition, the French Handball Federation could even double this premium athlete, setting it at € 100,000. The FFHB indeed add € 50,000 to the basic amount promised by the French NOC.
In case of silver, the Ministry of Sport provides a premium of € 20,000 and € 13,000 in case of bronze.
