79 seconds of last attack without shot!? Mackovsek: Monkeys from Belarus destroy all”

RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko players were dissapointed after defeat in Zagreb 23:21 which put them out of the VELUX EHF Champions League 2016/2017. Zvizej, Mackovsek and other Slovenian players were frustrated after Zagreb kept the ball for 79 seconds in the last attack of the match in front of 10.000 fans at Arena Zagreb. Belarussian referees Gusko and Repkin came in front with their decision to postpone sign for “passive play” until 20 seconds before the final whistle…

  • It is funny that we always get some Lithuanians, Portugues or Belarusian referees. I don’t know how. How we never get some French or German pair? We are all dissapointed. Handball community expected a real handball derby. Atmosphere was fantastic, but, as you see, at the end two monkeys from Belarus destroyed everything. We knew how important is this match. I want to congratule Zagreb. Guys aren’t guilty. I expected that referees gave a few balls to home team, but this I have never see. We have to go futher and to change focus on domestic League and Cup competition – said Borut Mackovsek in emotional speech after match.
