He is one of the world’ best handball players of all time, but he doesn’t hide ambitions as a coach also. Veselin Vujović overtook the Slovenian national team last summer after Boris Denic era with whom Slovenians won fourth place at World Championship 2013 as the highest result in their history since silver medal at EURO 2004 on home soil.
However, Vujović didn’t come to play for eighth place…
– I told to my players at the end of tournament in Germany, that I don’t think about Slovenia as the team who will play between sixth and tenth place. I won’t go in Poland with that in my mind. My wish is to play for medals. For all those who don’t want to go for medal, it is better not to play for the national team – said Vujović in an interview for siol.net.
