Rhein Neckar Lowen suffered two defeats on March 24, in some way, historical day which describes the best problems in European handball in the moment. The German champions were forced to play two matches in one day due problems in relation between EHF and Handball Bundesliga. They lost both, in Kiel and Kielce. At the end of the day, “it was shitty day” as playmaker Andy Schmid describe it:
“It was a shitty day for us, a shit day for the club and a shit day for the handball. Hopefully such a thing will never happen again”
“We are the complete idiots now,” said Andy Schmid after he saw defeat of the “Lions” second squad in Kielce (17:41) on laptop, just before start of encounter with Kiel at Sparkassen Arena, where they lost 22:27.
