Austrian head-coach Patrekur Johanesson has announced the squad for the upcoming 2015 World Championship in Qatar. On the list for the tournament in Doha, which starts on 15 January, Icelandic coach put 18 players in total, seven from the strongest handball league in the world – German DKB Bundesliga. The first star is prolific playmaker Viktor Szilagyi, but Austrians can count on the strong goalkeepering performance of Nikola Marinovic and effective wings Robert Weber and Raul Santos.
Squad with 18 players will travel to France, where the Austrians will face home team in the last preparation match on 12 January.
Austria will open the Championship with the encounter against Croatia on 16 January.
