The “Big Boy” is back! The 29-years old Danish left back Nikolaj Markussen (211 cm) is in good form again, ready to chase the best European teams as he did a few years ago in T-shirt of BM Atletico Madrid and national team. The European champion with Danish national team at Men’s EHF EURO 2012 was one of the most powerful weapons a few years ago in European handball, but his move to Qatari El Jaish change direction of his career.
After Qatari experience, Markussen lost his place in national team, but also he stepped back from a big international stage with transfer to Danish Skjern. However, this season could be described as his big come-back.
Bjerringbro Silkeborg will play against Hungarian PICK Szeged at EHF Champions League TOP 16 phase. The first match is in Silkeborg next Sunday at 16.50.
According his last match in win over GOG 28:25 (eight goals), Szeged’s coach Juan Carlos Pastor should prepare special tactics for him.
