Big comeback of Veszprem in Kiel

There is still hope that Veszprem can achieve the goal of all goals in this season – EHF Champions League crown! The Hungarian champions made fantastic comeback on winning track after home defeat against Barcelona, by beating THW Kiel 27:25 (15:15) in the most desired place “Sparkassen Arena” on Baltic Sea!

In the week of big discussion, whether is Xavi Sabate capable to lead the team of stars until end of the season, Nagy, Ilic and Co. gave their best to take points in Germany and stay in the race for the best possible place in Group before knock-out stage!

Alfred Gislason boys began match with 5:1 series, but Hungarians showed their quality quickly with Ilic and Nagy in the best form. At the start of the second half, Lekai, Sulic and Nagy made 3:0 series for 15:18 to show that they are capable to take points away.

Nikola Bilyk put teams in balance for the last time on 21:21 in 44th minute. Same player netted for 25:26 only 20 seconds before the final buzzer. In the last attack, Momir Ilic netted winner against his former team for the final result.

Momir Ilic scored seven, while Laszlo Nagy and Mate Lekai added six goals each for the winners. On the other side, Niklas Ekberg nettes seven and Patrick Wiencek six.
