Chambery appoint Ivica Obrvan for new head-coach!

The new head-coach of the French Chambery Savoie is Croatian expert Ivica Obrvan. One of the most successful Balkan coaches, in the past few years, has signed contract for the next two and a half years. He will continue his work with the Macedonian National team, with whom Obrvan qualified for the upcoming World Championship 2015 in Qatar.

Obrvan began his coaching career in the home team RK Metkovic, where he won the first big trophy – EHF Cup after thrilling final with SG Flensburg in 2000. He also had a lot of success with RK Gorenje, bringing them the first Slovenian title in the history, and RK C.O Zagreb, Croatian champions which played at EHF CL TOP 8 in the season 2011/2012.

Obrvan has overtook the Macedonian NT in 2013. Macedonians have played at the Main Round of the Men’s EHF EURO 2014 with him at the helm.

The president of Chambery, Laurent Munier explained the decision:

– We have about 20 applications for the new coach. We have decided for Ivica. His experience,  his vision of modern handball, his thirst for work, his desire to succeed are driving forces for the ambitions of the club. I want to live out this adventure with us – concluded Munier.
