In the Final of first F4 event in history of handball Champions League will play German, THW Kiel and Spanish, F.C Barcelona. That is epilogue of fantastic Saturday in “Lanxess Arena” in Koln, where both semifinal games was played in front of 19000 fans.
In first semifinal, F.C Barcelona beat Cehovski Medvedi 34:27 (17:11). Barca had game under control all 60 minutes and deserve to win. Best scorer was fantastic Juanin Garcia, left wing with 8 goals, Noddesbo scored 5. In Russian squad, Vasily Fillipov was the best with 7 goals.
In second semifinal, in reprise of two last finals, THW Kiel finally beat Ciudad Real 29:27 (12:15) with fantastic performance in last 20 minutes. Heroes in “Zebra” team were Christian Sprenger with 6/6 score against Sterbik and in last few minutes unbeatable, Thiery Omeyer with his TOP saves.
So, second time in the Final (first was in 2000), but first time in F4 modus will play German champion, THW Kiel and the best team in history, F.C Barcelona (seven time European champions).
