The Arbitration court of the German Handball Federation have decided that HBW Balingen are to play in the second Bundesliga due to being relegated. but the team from Schwaben have appealed this decision to the district court of Dortmund – as HSV Hamburg have been relegated to the third division there was spot open, and the ruling came – HBW Balingen are allowed to stay in the Bundesliga! With HBW Balingen back to the Bundesliga, it’s now only HSV Hamburg that are still in process of obtaining back their Bundesliga licence. In case HSV Hamburg gets the licence too, then the Bundesliga might be playing with 19 clubs.
