“DANKE ALFRED”: Spectacular farewell game for Alfred Gislason in Kiel

It was a special night in Kiel in which 9.000 fans and all the legends came to say “thank you Alfred Gislason”.

The 59-years old Icelandic coach ended his era in THW Kiel, where he won a lot of trophies in period 2008-2019 and became one of the all-time greatest handball coaches. With is Bundesliga and EHF Champions League titles in SC Magdeburg, his era in German handball can be called “golden”.

His wife Kara and him had a special treatment in the match between teams of Kiel and Magdeburg, who won everything under his leadership. Stefan Kretzschmar, Bennet Wiegert, Olafur Stefansson, Marcus Ahlm, Kim Andersson, Momir Ilic, Christian Sprenger, Dominik Klein, where just some of the names who came to say “thank you” once again for amazing years.
