– This is the hardest decision in my life. This is a moment that no player would like to express. The 18 years of my career were like 18 months for me. I have long thinking what I have to do and what is the best for me, my head, my heart, my body and my family. At the end I have decided that I’m going home to my family “after the last game on May 24, says Iker Romero for club’s website.
– You have to know when is the right moment. The perfect moment never comes, but I think now is the right time for my new life, “said Romero.
Romero has played for Valladolid, Ademar Leon, Ciudad Real and Barcelona before he came to Germany. Fuchse Berlin was his only team abroad.
 – Dagur and Bob have done something like a bet three years ago. They did not know whether it rises or not. But I think they are happy , “says Romero with a smile. ” The three years in Berlin were the icing on the cake of my career – we were in the Champions League Final4 , now have brought the trophy and at the EHF Cup Final Four at home we will see what happens. I want to win , I’m proud of everything I have achieved , of course – said Iker and concluded:- I’m going home and I will give my mind and my body a little rest. What do I do then , I’ll see in a few months.

Thank you, Iker!
