News number one from Russia today is not Chekhovski Medvedi’s easy win over last-year big title-contenders St Petersburg by 18 goals, but Evgeny Trefilov’s stepping down as Lada Togliatti’s head coach due to health reasons. This was announced later today by director of the club, Rasul Battalov.
Evgeny Trefilov has had health problems recently, and the club has been waiting to see if things are going for the better, however situation has not improved and this means that due to the high risk of future worsening of his health, Trefilov has to take his time off for a while. Trefilov himself said that the situation has been exaggerated and that he will return coaching again.
