IHF Super Globe 2015 with Barca, Veszprem, Berlin, Al Saad….

The International Handball Federation announced the list of participants at the IHF Super Globe 2015 which will take place in Doha, Qatar, between September 7 and 10. Eight teams from various continents will fight for the most valuable handball trophy.

The list begins with FC Barcelona, IHF Super Globe and EHF Champions League winner from 2014. The second European squad will be MKB MVM Veszprem as the runners-up of the VELUX EHF CL F4 in Cologne, while the third team from Europe will be the EHF Cup winner Fuchse Berlin.

Two Qatari teams will also participate on this event. The last year finalist, Al Saad, the team who surprised SG Flensburg last September in Al Sadd Arena, but also Lekhwiya, which will be representative of Asia.

The African champions which will take place in Doha will be team African from Tunisia. Sydney University will participate as Oceanian champions, while Taubate from Brazil, will traditionally play as best team of Pan America.

Playing system will be changed. In the last two editions the Super Globe format was played in two groups of four teams. Now, we will see knock-out format with quarterfinals (September 7), semifinals (and matches for the placement between 5th and 8th place) and the final day (September 10).
