IN TOP FORM: RK Vardar routine win over Meshkov Brest

RK Vardar Skopje are the first finalists of the seventh SEHA Gazprom Final4 at home hall “Jane Sandanski”. The reigning champions from Brest 2017 routinely beat Meshkov Brest 33:24 (17:14) in front of 4.000 of fans who had a chance to see their idols after few weeks break since the end of EHF Champions League Preliminary Round.
Home team had a total control over the match during 60 minutes. The visitors had not even a single chance to endanger fantastic squad of Spanish coach Raul Gonzales who had their leader in Luka Cindric.
The Croatian playmaker led his team with five goals in the first half. RK Vardar had 7:3 after 10 minutes, but Meshkov managed to come closer on 12:10. However, that was all from their ambitions to come to the final match of the regional competition.
The Macedonian champions had powerful start of the second half with Arpad Sterbik (17 saves) in the main role who was eager to give 100% tonight. Domestic team had 5:0 series until 37th minute, which put Meshkov on -8 – 22:14, when became clear who are the first finalists of the event in Skopje.
Mijailo Marsenic netted for 30:20 in 51st minute.
Luka Cindric netted six goals for the winners, while right wing Maxim Baranau scored nine for Meshkov.
