Ivan Nincevic (Besiktas Mogaz): Our chance is against Celje, Zagreb and Wisla

The biggest name in Turkish handball right now is Croatian left wing Ivan Nincevic. The 34 year-old former Fuchse Berlin star came to Istanbul at the begining of 2014 attracted by new project of the Turkish champions who got the chance to play at the VELUX EHF Champions League Group B among the TOP teams in the upcoming season:

– Besiktas are the biggest team in which I have chance to play. It is a real sports institution in Turkey with almost 20 million fans and great structure. Handball is a part of a big sports society. Club’s ambitions is to build up the team year by year by signing two-three quality players every summer. They want to make respectable team in the next few years capable to play against the TOP teams – said Nincevic for Balkan-Handball.com and added:

– We had tough group in the EHF Champions League last season, but this season is even worse. This is the club in progression, so it would be better to animate the fans with some group in which you can win two-three matches in a row, but. It will be extremely tough against Veszprem, Kiel, Flensburg. Of course, we will try to find our chance against Zagreb, Celje PL and Wisla Plock at home matches. Good daily form, pressure from the fans and it would be possible to gain point or even two. We had good signings, Pribak (playmaker), Kocic (goalkeeper) and Djukic (right wing) – said Nincevic and added:

– We said to the club’s official to find the hall with 4-5000 capacity in order to be sold-out for the matches. Our fans are unbeliavable, it would be a real “madhouse” with them in that kind of hall. Last season our home had 15.000 seats, which is too much – concluded former Fuchse player and Croatian NT member.

Nincevic confirmed that Besiktas will be his last professional team in which he will end his career in 2017.
