Jakobsen calls 18 Danes for “world’s gold” mission

The Danish national team going for the only gold which is missing in the collection. The reigning Olympic champions from Rio 2016 and EURO 2012 winners will try to win world’s gold in front of home fans in Herning. Coach Nikolaj Jakobsen announced 18 players to accept this challenge, with alway biggest concernings about right back position which is an eternal question of the Danish handball.

Here are 18 Danes for the WCh 2019 which start on January 10 in Denmark and Germany.

Goalkeeper: Niklas Landin Jacobsen (THW Kiel), Jannick Green (SC Magdeburg).

Left wing: Magnus Landin Jacobsen (THW Kiel), Casper Ulrich Mortensen (FC Barcelone).

Right wing: Lasse Svan Hansen (SG Flensburg-Handewitt), Hans Lindberg (Füchse Berlin).

Left back: Nikolai Markussen (Bjerringbro-Silkeborg), Henrik Møllgaard (Aalborg Håndbold), Mikkel Hansen (Paris Saint-Germain),

Playmakers: Rasmus Lauge Schmidt (SG Flensburg-Handewitt), Mads Mensah Larsen (Rhein-Neckar Löwen), Morten Olsen (TSV Hannover Burgdorf)

Right back: Nikolai Øris Nielsen (Bjerringbro-Silkeborg),
