Karabatic: “I dedicated my life to handball, I did not bet”

In a statement on his official Facebook fan profile, Nikola Karabatic rejected all allegations against him on the illegal betting and match fixing case in the court of Montpellier.

“I never took a bet. My girlfriend took a bet, she follows Montpellier for two years very well, and she knew the situation. We were already champions, and she knew that there were five injuries in the team and our team was heavily weakened, so we lost against Cesson. Therefore, I can not tolerate the allegations and accusations against me in the press, it makes me feel very bad. I have no words for the treatment we are currently receiving with my brother from the media accusing us of cheats and rigs. I dedicated my whole life to handball, and this situation is a nightmare for me. Thanks to all who support me”.
