After thriller match in Herning, Macedonia has probably secured two points for the Main Round battles at EHF EURO 2014! Macedonian goalie Borko Ristovski saved the last shot of Robert Weber for the first win of his team – 22:21 (12:10). Just 20 seconds before, Kiril Lazarov has scored winning goal, his 8th at this match. Both teams had chances to win, but at the end more concentrated where Macedonian squad.
Lazarov and Co. had 9:6 in the first half, but team of Patrekur Johannesson managed to get back in the game and made advantage of two goals (17:19). At the end that wasn’t enough for the Austrians, who played with one player less in the crucial last two minutes…
The top scorer in Macedonian team was Lazarov with 8 goals, while Wilczynski had fantastic series from 7-meter – 6 from 6 (7 goals in total).
Denmark, Austria and Macedonia secured their place at Main Round.
