Momir Ilic dismisses rumours about playing for Hungary

Telekom Veszprem superstar, Serbian left back Momir Ilic was linked with Hungarian national team in few media stories in the last few weeks. A huge wish of Hungarians to beat Slovenia at WCh 2019 Play-Off, according those media, will be expressed in taking two Balkan stars – Renato Sulic and Momir Ilic under the national flag. The 36-years old, former captain of Serbian NT, dismissed all speculations on that question:

  • I ended my NT career in 2015 after 11 years of playing for Serbia. I told that I don’t want to play anymore and that was a good decision for me, my family and health. I stay behind my decision even I was receiving calls for come-back later. I still think in that way. I respect all nations and countries, but I concluded my NT career in June 2015 – said Momir Ilic for Balkan-Handball.com.
