Norwegian No. 1 Silje Solberg: Spanish shooters and fast-breaks…

One of the biggest surprises of the Women’s EHF EURO 2014, Norwegian goalkeeper Silje Solberg, showed the best of her performance in order to replace pregnant Katrin Lunde. Goalkeeper of TVIS Holstebro showed TOP class in only few matches as starter in national team and helped her team-mates to reach 7th consecutive EURO final:

– We have a great goalkeeping team with Mats Olsson. I have worked with Mats for four years now and he is just great and he gives us good advices. So I am not surprised that Norway has got good goalkeepers – said Silje about her performance and added:

– It was a bit of pressure that we have to step in for Katrine, but on the other hand it was really good that there were not big expectations on us. It was good that we had a chance to make another step in the international handball and I think I have managed that good.

Norway won a lot of matches in which they dominated, but for Solberg, all rivals were tough task:

– No opponent was easy, but I was really looking forward to play against Denmark as I play there with my club. I know their players very well so that was probably the funniest game to play. But it was never easy.

Spain are in the final (Sunday, 18) in replay of 2008 match for gold:

– They have many good shooters and they are good at fast-breaks – said Silje for EHF-EURO.
