Pick Szeged “4 of 4”: Improving attack, confident victory

In Round 4 of Hungarian League Pick Szeged played at home against Vác on Saturday evening. The home team quickly gained a five-goal difference thanks to two goals and several brilliant assists by promising Spanish playmaker Mindegia. The guest couldn’t deal with Szeged’s aggressive defense and Mikler who made some great saves (15th minute 8-2). Left-handed youngster Ancsin was very effective from 9 meters but some silly mistakes in Pick’s defense and some strange penalty decisions by the referees brought the guests a bit closer. By the end of the first half Pick lead by 5 goals (14-9).
The Mindegia-show continued in the second half. First he scored, then provided several great passes to his fellow players. The goal of the match came from left wing Kekezovic following Mindegia’s pass behind his back. Pick’s lead slowly increased to 10 goals by the 47th minute (25-15) thanks to effective play by Larhom and Bosnian pivot Vranjes.
In the end Szeged won by 9 goals (29-20) making coach Pastor satisfied with his team’s attack performance.
Best scorers: Ancsin 6, Vranjes 5,  Larholm 4  / Gábori 5.
