PREDATORS: Norway at WCh 2017 semi-final for the first time!

Norway writes a new chapter of national handball history! It looks that men’s team will follow steps of the fantastic Norwegian girls in Paris, but also in years to come. Guys led by Christian Berge are at the semi-final of the World Championship 2017 for the first time in history, but second time in a row after European Championship fourth place last year in Poland!

The first quarter-finals ended with routine Norwegian victory over Hungary 31:28 (17:10) which was certain after only 30 minutes of play in Olympic city of Albertville. Esper Lie Hansen began, and then his team-mates Sander Sagosen, Bjarte Myrhol and fantastic Torbjorn Bergerud continued to torture slow Hungarian players, who couldn’t cope psychically with Scandinavian machines.

Match was open with 6:1 series, after which Xavi Sabate tried to wake up energy from match against Denmark in his guys, but without success. After 10:4, Hungarians came on 12:8, what was the biggest threat to the Norwegians this afternoon.

Powerful defense, strong shooting performance, counter-attacks and Bergerud behind it all was a formula for a big success. In 36th minute, Norway were on +9 – 23:14, everything was over. Twelve minutes later on 28:19, Berge decided to give a chance to all the players in his roster, so Hungarians could made a better impression…

Esper Lie Hansen netted si goals for the winners, Tonnesen and Sagosen added five, while the TOP scorer in Hungarian T-shirt was Gabor Csaszar with 11 goals.
