Spanish coach who worked with Talant Dujshebaev in BM Atletico Madrid, Raul Gonzalez Gutierrez will become a new head coach of Macedonian champion RK Vardar. Macedonian best team is withour permanent solution on the bench since October, when club’s president Sergei Samsonenko decided to sack Zoran Kastratovic. In the last two months the Russian boss and assistant coach Andon Boskovski led the team in the EHF Champions League and SEHA.
Raul Gonzales also worked with Dujshebaev in BM Ciudad Real as an assistant. This will be his first international experience, but also as the first team’s coach.
He won the Olympic medal as a player of Spanish Olympic team in Atlanta 1996. Gonzalez spent whole playing career in BM Valladolid.
Official presentation of the new coach will take place on Thursday in Skoplje.
Team is currently on preparation in Slovenia.
