RIO 2016: Brazil beat Norway in world’s champions opener!

Brazilian girls going for gold! The world champions from 2013 beat the reigning worlds’ champions from Norway – 31:28 (17:16) in the first match of the Women’s Olympic tournament. Future Arena in Rio wasn’t sold-out, but home fans showed great passion in supporting home team, who had great leader in playmaker  Anna Paula Belo. She netted 12 goals for the winners and was unstoppable during 60 minutes of great fight of two great teams.

The crucial period of the game was between 40th and 50th minute, when team coached by Morten Soubak made 6:1 series to went on 27:21. Despite they were fully concentrated to get back in the match, expect Nora Mork (12 goals), Norway had no player on the level necessary to outplay host team in Rio.

Deonise Faschinello netted five goals for Brazil, while in Norway, Heidi Loke ended match with six goals.

Brazil will play against Romania on Monday, while Norway wait for Spain.
