RIO 2016: France win 70 minutes thriller against Spain!

Since 2004 French women’s handball team wasn’t a part of the medal battles at Olympic Games! The French girls made a historical success after great battle and two extra periods against Spain 27:26 (23:23 in regular part), who had +3 only three minutes (23:20) before the end of 60 minutes. France will play against Netherlands at the first semi-final on Thursday.

Lacabrebe with two goals and Niombla with equalizer 26 seconds before the final buzzer put match in extra 10 minutes.

The decisive goals netted the biggest French star Allison Pineau for 25:24 and 26:24, enough that big celebration starts at „Future Arena“.

Absolutely amazing tournament had Spanish back Nerea Pena who scored 13 goals from 16 shots. On the other side, winning one, Alexandra Lacabrere netted seven, one more than Gnonsiane Niombla.

France and Netherlands opened Olympic tournament in Group B. The Krumbholz’s girls won 18:14.

    I guess there was no reason to comment on the Russian referees performance. Or was there?
