The reigning EHF Champions League winners, RK Vardar Skopje have opened the season in the best possible way with a victory in Montpellier 33:31 (16:17).
The third Spanish coach in Macedonian capital, David Pisonero, had a perfect debut on the same place like last year Roberto Garcia Parrondo (RK Vardar beat Montpellier in the first round of EHF CL 18/19 – 27:24).
Slovenian playmaker Stas Skube was man of the match with seven goals, three of them in the last five minutes which made turnover from 27:28 to 33:31 at the end.
Valentin Porte has been the most efficient for the home team with seven goals.
