Russian star Mikhail Chipurin joins US Ivry

There is no doubt that the French league is going to be very attractive in 2015/16 season. US Ivry, that will make come-back to LNH 1 this season, announced their last signing for the coming season, the Russian international pivot Mikhail Chipurin.

Chipurin (1.90, 105kg) is a tall pivot. He became free player after his contract with RK Vardar terminated in June. Chipurin, 34, played 157 times for Russia and scored 432 goals, a huge goals number for pivot. Chipurin signed a one-year contract with US Ivry, with an option for extension.

After signed on his contract, Chipurin said: “I am very happy to join US Ivry. I wanted to play in France, a country that I’m very admire, and the level of handball is high here. I will work hard in order to adapt in the US Ivry squad because the pivot is a position that needs good communications with the other players in the team”
