The WORLD HANDBALL COACH 2016 is German national team coach Dagur Sigurdsson. Great improvement with the German team colorized in two medals in 2016, was the biggest motivation for the Jury consisted of handball journalists all around the world, to praise the future coach of Japanese national handball team.
Dagur Sigurdsson won the prize ahead of EHF CL winner and Polish NT coach Talant Dujshebaev. The third place won Olympic champion with Denmark Gudmundur Gudmundsson.
