Serbia and Montenegro without Champions League!

Bad news for handball fans from Balkan. Serbian and Montenegrian champions, Kolubara Lazarevac and MRK Buducnost won’t play CL qualification due financial reasons.  Serbian team will cut half of the budget for next season (from 1. million Euro to 500.th) and Management of the club decided to apply for CWC, because competition as CL is “long and expensive” as a conditions for hall and equipment.

In case of Buducnost, situation is much more difficult. They don’t have first squad anymore. All contracts are suspended due financial crisis. Team will compete in Montenegrian “First League” next season with U18 squad.

All of this stories speaking about level of club handball in Balkan’s countries.
