SG Flensburg win thriller against PPD Zagreb

German SG Flensburg celebrated “arbeit sieg” against highly motivated PPD Zagreb 28:27 (12:13) in the opening match of the VELUX EHF Champions League Round 7. Croatian champions made troubles in the biggest part of the match to host team at “FLENS Arena” led by playmaker Domagoj Pavlović who netted nine goals.

French star Kentin Mahe had main role in the winning squad with six goals alongside Magnus Andersson.

PPD Zagreb opened match with 5:1 series after 10 minutes, but Ljubo Vranjes found the way to manage come-back. Flensburg were in lead 18:15 in the second half, but Zagreb came closer in the last ten minutes, a few times on -1. However, that wasn’t enough for turnover…

The biggest problem for PPD Zagreb after match in Flensburg is tough injury of right back Luka Stepančić who left the court in 57th minute with the pain in his knee…
