Slovenia beat Croatia in Koper

Two Balkan teams prepare for Rio. In their first friendly clash on Adriatic coast, Slovenia beat Croatia 27:25 (13:9). Over 3.000 spectators at “Bonifika” in Koper had a chance to see an interesting match in which Slovenia had +4 few times, while Croatia only led 8:7 in the first half.

Slovenia: Skok, Škof (10 saves), Lesjak (3 saves); Blagotinšek 4, Henigman 1, Marguč 3, Kavtičnik 2, Janc 1, Dolenec 2, Cingesar 1, Skube, Poteko 1, Miklavčič, Gaber 2, Zorman, Bezjak 4, Razgor, Zarabec 3 (1), Bombač 3.

Croatia: Stevanović, Pešić (3 saves – 1 x 7-m), Ivić (5 saves); Mihić 3, Duvnjak 1, Kopljar 6, Gojun, Matulić,  Karačić 3, Kontrec, Štrlek 3, Čupić 2 (1), Slišković 5, Cindrić 1, Brozović 1.

The second match will be played on July 26 in Opatija, Croatia.

ZORMAN IS NEW RECORD HOLDER

The 36-years old playmaker of Slovenian national team, Uroš Zorman, is new record holder in number of the matches played in national jersey. Match against Croatia was his 218th for Slovenia. He has one more than ex-record holder, left wing Luka Zvizej.
