Slovenians say “YES” to SEHA League! Hungarians to join too?

The handball union of Slovenia at todays’ meeting has given support to seeing Slovenian teams participating in the SEHA Gazprom league from next year. That practically means that the three best Slovenian teams, Gorenje, Celje PL and Maribor will be able to play in the regional league starting from next season, and question is still open on how many clubs there will be, considering the fact that Veszprem and Pick Szeged have expressed interest to join.

Of Slovenians joining the league was spoken already from the beginning of the league, but the handball union were then against it citing development reasons in home country. The financial crisis, and the money guarantee by GAZPROM have done it, and they’re in now. All of the former Yugoslavia have teams in the league now.
