Spanish 20 minutes enough for a win over Iceland

One of the biggest title contenders at IHF World Championship 2017 in France, Spain celebrated first win against Iceland 27:21 (10:12) in front of almost sold-out Arena in Metz. Fantastic first half-time of Icelandic goalkeeper Bjorgvin Pall Gustavsson put his team ahead of European silver medal winners from EHF EURO 2016, but in the last 20 minutes of the last clash of Day 2, Spanish quality became more visible.

Icelanders had all the answers on Spanish defense until 37th minute and 15:13 on their side, but than Spaniards put their performance on higher level and with 6:0 series took match into their hands.

Iceland netted only two goals for 17 minutes and that was more than obvious reason for comfortable Spanish win at the start in which Balaguer and Canellas participated with four goals each.
