Serbian NT coach, Veselin Vukovic missed the chance to become a golden again as 26 years before, when he won Gold Medal with the Yugoslavia at the World Championship in Switzerland. At the PRESS conference, Vukovic admited that he had one wish for the final:
– My wish was Spain. I had everything in my head prepared for that match. I knew all the things about them and I think that we could beat them, because, they were the only team more tired then we were. It is impossible with that type of defense (3-2-1) to stay fit during all the tournament as we saw in the last two match, when Spain stayed without a medal – said Vukovic and add:
– We can be very proud. Maybe we aren’t the best team in Europe, but we made strong team for respect. We are very happy. I told to my players that they are the Champions.
