W VS V: Rocha to miss Vardar – Brumen doubtful for Wisla

One of the most interesting clashes in the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 phase will be among the Polish and Macedonian vice-champions, Orlen Wisla Plock and RK Vardar Skopje. Two strong teams with fantastic home support will face in the battle for EHF CL TOP 8 on March 14 in Orlen Arena and March 21 in Jane Sandanski in Skopje.

The bigger reason to be worried has Wisla’s coach Manolo Cadenas as he lost Portuguese line-player Thiago Rocha for the upcoming matches (the first one – tonight’s derby against Kielce). Rocha injured metacarpal bone of the shooting hand and won’t be able to help his team-mates in the next few weeks.

On the other side, Cadenas’ former player Raul Gonzales, RK Vardar coach, has problem with injured Matjaz Brumen. The experienced Slovenian right wing suffering arm injury due which he missed already a few matches. It is still unknown whether he will recover for the matches with Poles, but something is already known – he doesn’t need to go “under the knife” to solve the problem.
