Zdravko Zovko takes Zvezda Zvenizgorod

Former women’s NT coach of Croatia, Zdravko Zovko, signed one year contract with Russian TOP team and EHF CL competitor, Zvezda Zvenizgorod. He will succeed legendary Evgeny Trefilov, who wants to stay focus on National team of Russia in next 12 months, until Olympic Games in London next year.

– Russia always has TOP quality handball, but we will be the pionners. Handball pionners – said Zovko for Balkan-Handball.com. “They wanted contract on two years, but let’s see, how will things going on…”

With Zovko, in Russia going also his assistant Mato Matijevic and goalkeepers coach, Vlado Sola, who will leave his job in C.O Zagreb.

The only problem is that Zvezda won’t play in the EHF Champions League next season, after team from Zvenizgorod suffered defeat in the Play-Off semifinal from Dinamo.
