Gidsel’s new role could prolong his career

Denmark tested a bold tactic against the Netherlands 40:24 — Mathias Gidsel moved from right back to playmaker, allowing two left-handers in the back line.
The Berlin star says the change could also help him long-term:
“I don’t know if I can keep going as much as I do now at right back. Playing in the middle could let me be more of a facilitator,” Gidsel told TV 2 Sport.
While he still prefers his usual side, Gidsel welcomes the experiment:
“It gives us more weapons. We have many talented left-handers, and a coach who dares to think new.”
