Paths to 2027 Worlds Confirmed: Serbia Targets Hungary, Switzerland Meets Italy

Serbia will face Hungary in the May play-offs for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship if they first overcome Lithuania in the March pre-qualifiers, following the draw held in Herning.
The “Eagles” will host Hungary in the first leg on 13/14 May, with the return match scheduled three days later (16/17 May) in Hungary.
Switzerland will meet Italy.
Czech Republic had no luck in draw as their next rival will be France
Slovenia will meet the winner of the tie between Montenegro and Finland.
North Macedonia also received a favorable draw and will battle for a World Championship ticket against the winner of Ukraine vs Slovakia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina could be headed to the Faroe Islands, provided they clear their first hurdle in Kosovo.
