REPLACEMENT FOR JORGENSEN: Adin Faljić joins SG Flensburg-Handewitt

Adin Faljić joins SG Flensburg-Handewitt

SG Flensburg-Handewitt have responded to the injury-related absence of Lukas Jørgensen by signing Bosnia and Herzegovina national team player Adin Faljić.

The 25-year-old line player, who learned handball at Krivaja Zavidovići in Bosnia and Herzegovina, moves to Flensburg from Croatian Champions League side RK Zagreb and has signed a contract until the end of the season.

“Lukas Jørgensen’s absence forced us to react at short notice. With Adin Faljić, we are bringing in an internationally experienced line player who knows this position well and can help immediately,” said SG managing director Holger Glandorf. “He adds physical presence, defensive stability and Champions League experience — exactly what we need right now.”

Head coach Aleš Pajović added: “Adin is a classic line player with a lot of physicality and strong game intelligence. He knows how to hold his own against tough defensive lines and is very tactically disciplined. Despite the short adaptation period, I am convinced he will quickly give our team added security.”

Faljić himself said about the move: “I’m very happy about the opportunity to play for Flensburg. After my time in Zagreb — for which I’m very grateful to the club and everyone involved — I’m now highly motivated to keep developing and take on responsibility at the highest level. I’ve worked my whole career for an opportunity like this and I will do everything I can to repay the trust of the club, my teammates and the fans.”
