65 Teams from Seven Countries Compete at Jubilee Bebeto Summer Cup

The final day at the “Dr. Professor Branislav Pokrajac” Sports Centre in Banjica brought the curtain down on the 10th jubilee Bebeto Summer Cup, organised by HC Novi Beograd.

A total of 65 teams from seven countries competed for trophies in seven categories. Based on the results achieved, Handball Club Novi Beograd was convincingly the most successful club, winning five first places and two second places. In addition to Novi Beograd, trophies were also won by Trebjesa from Nikšić in the girls’ 2013 generation and MRK Budućnost from Podgorica in the boys’ 2010 generation.

In all categories, the most successful individuals were also selected: tournament MVP, best goalkeeper, best defensive player and best assist provider. They all received special plaques and gifts from the tournament partners, Bebeto and Total Sport.

The trophy, medal and individual award ceremony was enriched by the presence of Serbian national team player Vanja Ilić and the Ambassador of Israel, Avivit Bar-Ilan.

At this tournament, a special plaque is also awarded to the best coach of the tournament, bearing the name of “Professor Branislav Pokrajac”, with the winner chosen by the delegates in charge of the competition. This time, they did not have a difficult choice, as coach Blažo Đurović deserved the plaque after leading Novi Beograd’s boys’ teams born in 2011 and 2012 to two first-place finishes.
