Fredericia sign Torbjorn Bergerud

Fredericia have found their new leader between the posts. The Danish club officially announced on Friday the immediate arrival of Torbjørn Bergerud from Wisła Płock. The Norwegian international goalkeeper has signed a deal starting this summer and running until 2029.

It is a major coup for Fredericia. After several busy months on the goalkeeper market, the Herreligaen club have secured a player with experience on the biggest European stages. At 31, Torbjørn Bergerud already knows the Danish league very well, having previously played for GOG before spells with Flensburg, Kolstad and Wisła Płock.

The signing also fits into Fredericia’s growing ambitions. After several seasons in which the club has fought for medals in Denmark and gained experience in European competitions, Fredericia now want to establish themselves permanently near the top of the table. The arrival of Niclas Kirkeløkke, planned for the summer of 2027, had already sent a strong signal. Bergerud’s signing confirms that Fredericia do not simply want to exist among the Danish elite — they want to make a real impact.

For Bergerud, the move also represents a return to a familiar environment. The Norwegian explained that he wanted to come back to the Danish league, which he considers one of the strongest in Europe, and become part of an ambitious project. At Fredericia, his main task will be to help the club take the next step, as they continue to grow quickly and make strong moves on the Scandinavian market. He had also been linked with a move to Berlin, alongside rumours involving Charles Bolzinger.
