Dubrovnik Handball Camp brings together 90 young players from 14 countries

A total of 90 young female and male handball players from 14 countries across two continents have gathered in Dubrovnik for the second edition of the Dubrovnik Handball Camp, which was officially opened at the Dubrovnik Student Centre.

The camp is organised by local club RK Ardiaei and features several prominent names from Croatian and international handball. The head coach is Xavi Pascual, head coach of Veszprém and the Egyptian national team, who won the Spanish championship ten times and the EHF Champions League three times with Barcelona.

The coaching team also includes Ivan Martinović, Veszprém player and captain of the Croatian national team, Blaž Janc, Barcelona player and captain of Slovenia, Zlatko Raužan, Croatian international, new RK Zagreb player and Croatia’s best young player, as well as Željko Musa, a four-time medallist with Croatia and current head coach of RK Ardiaei.

Over the next seven days, young players from the U11 to U18 age groups will work on basic and advanced handball techniques, tactical preparation, game strategy and physical conditioning, all aimed at helping them reach their full potential.

The participants have been divided into groups according to age. The opening day was reserved for arrivals, accommodation and the official ceremony, while the first training sessions with renowned coaches and players begin tomorrow morning.
