“Two Exceptional Players for the Future”: SG Flensburg Handewitt confirm Costa’s brothers transfer!

SG Flensburg-Handewitt have secured two exceptional players for the future in the Costa brothers. Martim and Kiko have committed their futures to the club on the Flensburg Fjord until at least 2032.
With the two Portuguese internationals, SG are not only signing two outstanding players, but also two brothers who have been following the same path together for many years. Both have already demonstrated their ability at the highest level with their club and the national team. Their signing sends a strong message about SG Flensburg-Handewitt’s sporting ambitions and reflects the club’s long-term strategy.
“The signing of Martim and Kiko is something very special for us,” said SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf. “Despite their young age, both have already shown the exceptional qualities they possess. They stand for dynamism, creativity and great ambition. At the same time, during our talks, we quickly realised that they are also an excellent fit for SG on a personal level. We are delighted that they have chosen Flensburg together, and we are convinced that they will strengthen our team both in sporting terms and through their character.”
SG head coach Aleš Pajović is also eagerly looking forward to working with the two new arrivals:
“Martim and Kiko are among the most exciting players of their generation. They bring a great deal of quality, game intelligence and passion, and despite their young age, they have already gained important experience at the highest international level. At the same time, they are both very grounded and hungry for success, qualities that fit perfectly with our team and our philosophy.”
Out of respect for the entire Sporting Clube de Portugal family, we will refrain from publishing videos and images. We look forward to welcoming Kiko and Martim from the 2027/28 season.
