Petar Cikusa and Barca – 2029!
One of the most talented handball players in the world, Petar Cikuša, will remain in a Barcelona jersey until 2029!
The new four-year contract with the Blaugrana is a logical consequence of the rapid development of this young Spanish international of Serbian descent, who fully earned the trust of head coach Antonio Carlos Ortega and his staff during the past season.
The exceptionally talented centre-back (born 2005) took advantage of Luka Cindrić’s departure from the club and Domen Makuc’s injury to showcase his extraordinary talent. The extent to which Barcelona relies on his skills was best illustrated during last season’s Final4, when at just under 19 years of age, he played a significant role in the closing moments of the final against Aalborg.
Cikuša was also part of Spain’s bronze-medal-winning team at the Olympic Games in Paris.
His brother Đorđe, who plays as a right-back, is currently on loan at Montpellier.
