Talant Dujshebaev after huge defeat against Berlin: We have 1% of chances

Industria Kielce have suffered home defeat against Fuchse Berlin 26:33 in the first match of knock-out stage of the EHF Champions League. There is not too much left of hopes to achieve something big this season.

“The first thirty minutes looked pretty good. We wanted to impose our conditions and set a fast pace for the game. In the second half, Fuechse Berlin was clearly better than us. We played much worse in defense and attack, and they deserved to win. There were chances to score more goals in the first half, but there were also chances to lose by ten goals… That’s sport,” said Dujszebajew.

He emphasized the significant difference between the first and second halves, noting that in the first half, the opponent scored 12 goals, while in the second half, they scored 21. “This is material for analysis,” he pointed out, mentioning that the changes he made during the match might have been too frequent, which could have affected the team’s performance.

“We tried to make one change in defense and attack, but that led to rotations. Maybe there were too many? Maybe it’s my mistake, maybe we need to play with fewer players,” he reflected on the team’s tactical adjustments.

“Both goalkeepers played well, Miłosz Wałach made a very nice interception, which led to a goal on the counter. We win and lose together,” he commented, emphasizing the importance of team effort.

“Hassan Kaddah lost two or three teeth. However, this wasn’t a deliberate attack, it was just the consequence of contact sport. It wasn’t a red card-worthy attack.”

“We know that a six-goal difference in an away game is a huge gap. But to play in the quarterfinals, we need to play a fantastic match. We can’t afford to concede so many stupid goals from mistakes and counterattacks,” he said.

As for their chances of progressing, he said, “1 percent. Who’s giving more? If before the match Fuechse Berlin was given a 52 percent chance, now it’s 99. We’ll try to win, but I won’t say that winning by seven goals is impossible, but it will be tough against the Bundesliga leader.”
