EHF Velux Champions League: Veszprem with an important victory against THW Kiel!

In the “derby” of the this round of the Champions League, home side Veszprem in front of 6500 fans in Veszprem arena took an important victory against one of the main rivals for the first places. After beating Atletico in Madrid, now Veszprem beat THW Kiel with 31:30 and is now leading the group with 4 wins from 4 games.

Dinamo Minsk achieved their second victory today after a very good game in Barcelona which they lost unluckily. Hungarians Pick Szeged had no solution for the Belarussian team, and had to surrender even after the first half, losing it 17:10. In the second half, with steady and confident game, Dinamo Minsk scored a 29:24 win.

Constanta got their first win in this years’ Champions League after surprisingly beat RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko at home. The first half announced that the game is going the way the home team wants, and after taking 9:2 lead, the score settled at +5, and at half time the teams went with 15:10 for HCM. Celje couldn’t fight back in the second half, and finally lost with 17:22.

Montpellier still without their main stars couldn’t do much against Chekhovski Medvedi. The teams’ quest in the Champions League is going in bad direction as another defeat occured in Russia. Hosts Medvedi won with 35:19, and this is now third defeat for Montpellier and only one draw, no victory yet.
