1800 HP Fans decided: Bojana Popovic is EHF CL 2011/2012 MVP!

After eight days of Handball-Planet.com voting Contest for the best Player of Women’s EHF Champions League 2011/2012, we got a winner – Bojana Popovic (89 goals until now) from Buducnost Podgorica. The 33 years old “uncrowned Queen” of Women’s Handball waiting for the sixth EHF Champions League Final these days, after she won EHF CL five times with Danish Slagelse and Viborg. Popovic will finish proffesional career at the end of this season.

She got more than 48,3% of almost 1800 votes from all over the Handball World. The biggest rival was fantastic Gyori’s leader, Anita Gorbitz with 43,6% of votes. Three other players, Katarina Bulatovic, Clara Woltering and Heidi Loke received far fewer votes.

FINAL RESULTS (based on 1759 votes):
Bojana Popovic 48,37%(851)
Anita Gorbitz 43,66%(768)
Katarina Bulatovic 3,18% (56)
Clara Woltering 2,84% (50)
Heidi Loke 1,93% (30)

First match of EHF CL Final between Gyori and Buducnost will be played in Veszprem Arena (Saturday, 5th May). Second match is in Podgorica eight days after.
