Blow for RK Partizan: Simo Šijan Faces 12-weeks Layoff

A major misfortune has struck Serbian national team player and RK Partizan member, Simo Šijan.
During a fall in the derby against RK Crvena zvezda in “Šumice,” the former Skjern, RK Vojvodina, Kikinda, and Jugović player landed awkwardly on his left elbow, which was clearly visible on TV cameras.
Šijan ran to the bench holding his arm, and it was immediately obvious that it was a serious injury.
Diagnosis – torn tendon, 12 weeks of recovery, but luckily he will not need surgery.
It’s a tough moment for RK Partizan, as Šijan will miss the entire group stage of the EHF Champions League, which begins on October 14 with the black-and-whites’ away match against Nexe in Našice.
RK Partizan will face Kadetten Schaffhausen, RK Nexe and BM Ademar Leon in Group stage.
